Isn't that the most beautiful place setting EVER??? Excuse me while I show off a bit. This is what my extremely talented and wonderful daughter MADE me for Mother's Day. That's right- she made it! Isn't she amazing??? She did all of this in school in Ceramics class. It was very difficult to photograph
This is the plate- the colors are beautiful and she even textured the center of the sunflower
This is one side of the cup- an adorable bee and a butterfly
this is the other side- a crackled dragonfly! I love it!
and a sweet little bowl with 4 different butterflies. I am so very proud of her!
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

I am of the firm belief that it does indeed take a village to raise a child. I want to express my thanks and gratefulness to all the wonderful friends, aunts, grandmothers that have helped me and Ray along the journey of parenthood. During all the times I felt (and still feel) so ill-prepared for this most difficult job, you've helped given me the strength and wisdom I needed.
My greatest blessings:
This is the family that is in my kitchen and my heart. They are my reason for living, cooking, and laughing. They've been so supportive of this blog ( they're now campaigning for a cookbook- they need to start cleaning their rooms before that happens!) and are my biggest cheerleaders.

Pattie, Your children are so handsome and beautiful. Your daughter in law is gorgeous and your little grandbaby is absolutely beautiful! You must be so, so proud!
ReplyDeleteAllie...you are one talented young lady! Your ceramics project is nothing short of amazing! I feel so happy for your Mom because I know how proud she must be. I noticed the dishes first thing, before reading any of this beautiful post and was thinking those are some really cool pieces and that I loved the sunflower. Wow, you could be a professional ceramicist...if you really enjoy it as much as it looks like you do you should read up on Clarice Cliff.
Ok, I've spent enough time...super sweet, touching post ladies.
Happy Mothers Day to another MOM(Mother Of Many),

To Allie- glad you inherited some of your mom's talents- but remember that your dad has a few of his own- I love that place setting
