Nonna, Mom, me and my baby brother

I feel very blessed to come from a family of strong, compassionate, loving women. They are the ones who shaped how I mother my own children and they made me who I am. This Sunday for Mother's Day, we'll have a leisurely breakfast and a quiet family day- maybe a trip to the Flea Market to stroll the antique booths (hint, hint, Honey!). These are the women that will be in my thoughts that day as they are on a daily basis.

My mom on her wedding day in Italy

And on the day of my First Holy Communion

Haviland and Grandma's silver

My Nonna during one of our many road trips exploring the Italian countryside

And watching my Nonno try the great American past-time on a visit to America

Vintage hand stitched linens

My Grandma Josie dancing with Dad at my wedding

Italian needlework on pure linen

My Grandma's sisters- they were as close as can be all their lives. Both my Aunts raised wonderful families

Vintage cut glass, silver, and china

I love the blue and silver

My Grandma had a beautiful smile- it's what I remember best. Here she is with her brother and sister-in-law (another strong and amazing woman)

Love those roses!

Silver, blue, and crystal- a match made in Heaven

My wonderful daughter-in-law. My son could not have made a better choice

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful, strong women we have been blessed to know and love
