No problem...I'm always having to excuse myself over at my place by letting my readers know that "real life" has to come first. : ) Beautiful dishes!!! M.L.
Ah, sometimes Real Life does get in the way -- how rude of it!
Now, down to business. The 6th picture from the top of this post -- the lamp. Where did you get it ? I love it. I think it, or one like it, needs to live here. NEEDS to.
Ohhh my...what gorgeous photos! Mmmm...yummy food and all of those beautiful dishes!!! I just loved that fabulous plate with the rose pattern on it (the first photo of the dishes)! I've never seen it before and just adore it!!! Loved getting to see your shelves full of pretty dishes too! Oooh...a real dish lovers dream!!! What a treat!!! Thank you for sharing all of your pretties with us!!!
Also...wanted to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my Valentine Treasures tea...and for your very sweet comment!!!
Loved the vignettes! We sure do like a lot of the same kinds of things. I think we may have the exact same granite counter tops. Isn't granite just the best!
Mom: Breast cancer and heart disease survivor, mother of 6, wife, Grandma, and always an Italian mama
Allie: 20 year old daughter, college junior, photographer extraordinaire. Creative and beautiful (her Mama says so!)
I found this little snippet somewhere titled "Southern Traditions" and was struck by how much it reminded me of how I was raised in our Italian household- so I "edited" it just a tiny bit. I believe these traditions should be kept alive- graciousness and kindness never go out of style
1) Setting a table with real cloth napkins
2) Writing thank you notes
3) Saying sir or ma'am (I LOVE this in the South!)
4) Giving a stranger a helping hand
5) Sitting on the porch and rocking for a spell
6) Slow cooking all day long
7) Setting out the cheese straws and sweet tea for company (or espresso and biscotti)
8) Canning, quilting, or crocheting- our grandmothers did them to make do, but we can do them to make a home
9) Pearls go with everything!
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. ~John Muir

Well, I certainly enjoyed your vignettes! And I understand about life getting in the way. Have been there the past month.
